http://wolfgang-schweizer.blogspot.com/ Epoxy resin paintings series colors of the night In 2010 I developed a new technique. I paint with acrylic colors and pens onto different visible layers of epoxy resin. Between the layers I embed embossed metal and gems or parts of mirrors and CDs. Sometimes I underlay everything with a big mirror. This way the light is reflected from the back of the colors and gives them intensity. The CD parts bring about a prism effect. This new technique is no pure traditional painting anymore and leads me more and more to a combination of jewelry making and painting. I call this form of art "wall jewelry" meanwhile. You cannot see the light effects on the paintings in a photography. Only in real you see the reflections and the diffraction of the colors when you watch the paintings from different angles. |
